US President Donald Trump says he will attract all 2 thousand American troops to Syria with the appropriate “ ”, simultaneously continuing the fight against the terrorists of Islamic State.
In a comment in Titeter on Monday, President Trump did not set a deadline for withdrawal and spoke sarcastically about what he described as “as a very incorrect report” in the newspaper “New York Times”, which said Mr Trump was giving up his December 19th statement of a quick withdrawal of troops, which officials said would require about 30 days.
John Bolton, Mr. Trump's national security adviser, said on Sunday during a visit to Israel that US troops would stay in Syria until the Islamic State is defeated and that the Trump administration had received guarantees that Turkey would not target Kurdish fighters, allies with American forces.
In his comment at Titter, Mr. Trump wrote: “As in my original statements, we will leave at the right pace, while at the same time we will continue to fight I SIS and make everything else necessary! ”
Trump, without consulting national security officials, surprised the allies with his announcement last month that he would withdraw US troops from Syria, where they have carried out air strikes on the Islamic State and served as advisers for Kurdish fighters.
