Trade ministry urges businesses to set flags showing the origin of goods

Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Arberesh Krasniqi, along with MTI Chief Inspector Lulzim Syla, have visited several brands to look closely at the implementation of administrative instruction for setting up flags showing the origin of goods.

Deputy Prime Minister Krasniqi stressed that the purpose of these visits is to make business sense to implement administrative guidelines and start setting flags. It said that citizens have received very well the setting of flags showing the origin of goods.

We visited several brands in Pristina today. The reason for the visit is to set up flags, which have been defined with MTI administrative guidelines, which have entered into force on December 29th in 2018, which obliges all economic operators to implement. We inspected today and found that citizens themselves are mainly interested in applying this instruction. We know that failing to implement administrative instruction is legal violations where the sentences” are presented, Krasniqi said.

The deputy minister also showed the benefits this administrative direction has for citizens. She stressed that consumers will have relief during the purchase of products they need in their daily lives. Furthermore, she added that the MTI's interest in monitoring and inspecting its performance is great.

“Inspector is doing his job and will continue further, which I consider will positively influence market regulation in the Republic of Kosovo and will also make it more understandable and precise than consumers are buying. That's also the purpose of setting flags, that's true for all businesses there is no division”, Krasniqi said.

We remember that administrative instruction went into effect on December 29, 2018, forcing all vendors to put the state's flag on the left side of the prize to import the product to show the product's origin.
