Since December 17th, 2018, the Kosovo University Clinical Clinic of Surgery has cancelled over two thousand effective (unurgent) operations because of the medical staff strike. The representative of the College of Surgeons, Arber Morina, has said of “Zerin” that every day they cancel up to 200 operations. Moreover, he has said that surgeons ' strike is already being attached to other clinics.
Even the doctors of Vascular Surgery are on strike. The strike is continuing at the same intensity, at the same rate, and we're getting even bigger”, Morina declared. That day before he had announced that the strike was joined by the orthopedics at QKUK.
Morina has said that they will continue on strike as they have continued so far. Our request is fair and clear. We are not seeking charity, we are seeking what belongs to us and we are continuing with the same system”, he has said, adding that so far they have not had any tendency to negotiate with Health Ministry officials about the strike.
