SUNSHKUU S'you stop strike: Education workers have not intimidated even the Serb conqueror

United Kosovo Education, Science and Culture Union [ The SBASK has announced that the strike will continue in all institutions, until it stressed that education workers cannot remove anyone from their legally guaranteed right to express their opposition through legal strike on the discriminatory law [...]

The SBASK says that the general strike in the entire educational system, starting with the nests, pre-university and university education institutions, will continue in the coming days until the state institutions fail to meet, as they say, “the legitimate and just request of the SBSF to raise coffients in the wage bill of 30 for all employed in Kosovo's” education.

“The SBASK has carefully conveyed the situation throughout Kosovo during the strike and invites central and local institutions to step up commitments to meet SBASK's legitimate demand. We also remind them to give up ideas to pressure strikers because they will face law and justice because our strike is legitimate, and the law on strikes and international conventions also protects that right. Education workers have not been able to intimidate and remove from their sacred mission, nor has the Serb conqueror, despite that violence in the 1990s. Education workers cannot either today remove any from their legally guaranteed right to express their opposition through legal strike against the discriminated and degrading wage law. We are not asking for more or less of others, and therefore we will stand firm in our commitments and efforts to implement the right demand for promotion of at least 30 % of the employees in the entire educational system”, the communiqué says.

The SBASK reports that tomorrow Mayor Beftman Jasharaj, along with some members of the Gravis Central Council, will stay in Mitrovica, Vushtrri and Obilic, to negotiate with the strikers.
