The requirements of the United Trade Union of Education, Science and Culture (SBASHK) for the draft wage bill to establish the co-efficiency of education workers by 30 percent have not been realised, and a compromise agreement with Government is not seen on the horizon.

As a result, about 500 thousand students and students have remained outside the educational and education process, Koha Ditore writes today.

SBASK leaders have said that since last week they have received no concrete answers to their demands. The chairman of this union, Nundman Jasharaj, has indicated that although there have been two weeks since they entered the strike, they will not give up their request. He has warned that due to a failure to offer a solution, the strike will continue this week.

Disgusted with treatment in the draft wage bill, about 20,000 local and central-level civil servants are expected to go on strike Tuesday. The Kosovo Public Administration Union and that of the Kosovo Civil Service have announced that their demand is to make the salary level, as they consider that the cofficient for civil servants in the draft wage bill is the lowest. Also, this union is seeking acceptance of the work stage for those persecuted by the Serbian regime.

Even in the health sector now one month, KKUK surgeons are holding a strike with the demand for salary increases. As a result, surgical interventions have failed in nearly 60,000 cases.

With the demand for salary increases up to a few days ago on strike, there were also the miners of “Treps”. They have interrupted the strike after promising that their cases will be dealt with by the Status for “Trepen”, as well as by a special law.
