Today, it has been two months since the provision of 100 per cent protection against products of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the part of the Government of Kosovo. At the border point with Serbia, in Merdara, during this period no truck has entered Kosovo with commercial goods.
According to police officials, at this border point there have been only trucks crossing Kosovo transit, which have countries in the region, such as Albania and Macedonia, KTV reports.
According to the Adriatic Stavileci, spokesperson in Kosovo Customs, the same period of import from Serbia a year ago, cannot be compared, as it says, prior to this safeguard clause the number of trains that entered Kosovo was up to 150 such a day.
There are only a few trucks that have entered Kosovo during the past two months, which have imported only raw materials.
According to customs officials, some businesses that had earlier contracts to companies in Serbia that had to respect them also paid the 100 per cent tax.
