But today the school principal has announced that they have changed their mind. They have decided to join the strike, which has already joined all school institutions at the country level. Director Betim Sylejmani told Kosova Prees that for the first time in 10 years, teachers of this school became part of the education unions, and then decided to implement their decision.
The “Days had decided not to go on strike, but today they joined the strike. After the meeting of the Council of Educators, they made two decisions, to join education unions and simultaneously go on strike like all Kosovo schools”, Sylejmani has said of KosovoPress.
But according to him, the strike is not the right tool, despite respecting the teacher's decision.
No one should lose an hour after me, but I'm just the director and as such I have to respect the teacher's decision”, Sylejmani added.
Otherwise, the strike decision came as a result of the teacher's discontent with the wage cofficiator, and the SBASK has warned that strikes in education could last for months unless their demands are met.
