All of this because of the classification in the draft peace law, which is expected to be voted in the Kosovo Assembly on 31 January.

In this bill, the top wage cofficiency is envisioned for the president, prime minister and Kosovo Assembly Speaker.

According to sociologists, such strikes are fair, as society is formed by these sectors.

While opposition deputies in the Kosovo Assembly have sought solutions as soon as possible, also calling for Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's resignation.

Civil Service Union Chairman Mursel Zymberi told Gazeta Life in Kosovo that the strike will continue in all municipalities until their demands are met.

The Greva will start tomorrow between 10:00 and 11:00. The demands are formulated and there are only two: The first requirement is wage leveling with other sectors, which means rising compared to other sectors, as well as the second requirement is recognition of the experience of the work of those who have gone away violently during the years of yet90s, until the contribution is now known to teachers. I think everyone has made their contribution by little during that time”, Zymber said on Monday.

As civil servants held the first day of the strike, the third week for teachers started.

Chairman of the United Trade Union for Education, Science and Culture ( The SBAAK), Nundman Jasharaj, told Kosovo's jeta Journal that the strike will continue this week as long as the cofficient increases for 30% for all salaries in the education system.

He also said the solution is seen by the withdrawal of the Parliament's Parliamentary Bill and salaries to remain what they are.

We as SBASK will not give up until our demands are met. If the government does not want to accept the increase for 30%, then let's withdraw this bill altogether and not be voted in at all, because the offer given the previous day was discriminated against”, Jasharaj told JNK.

Even the Pristina Parents' Council had warned protests days earlier due to “unblocking” of the educational system from the teacher strike.

They have called on the Government and the United States to find a solution to the situation, as they say students are being hurt.

While doctors have demanded that their salaries be equal with prosecutors and judges in this bill.

The miners, on the other hand, followed doctors by conducting a nine - day strike on January 3rd to require, among other things, a 20 - percent raise.

The strike ended on January 12th after reaching a interim agreement with Economy Development Minister Valdrin Luka.

Regarding these strikes, former Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa has estimated that if this situation continues, then in Kosovo the crisis scenario in Greece can be repeated.

For wage growth to go proportionally with economic growth and to determine the same wage system for the same job. Otherwise, we end up with a financial crisis like Greece a few years ago, but unlike that Greece used EU funds as a member, and we are easily bankrupt because we are not EU member”, Mustafa wrote on his Facebook account.

While MP Korab Sejdiu has been addressed with letter Monday to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, saying that if he cannot make solutions “he will issue a sequence”.

Xerxa: Pre-electoral memorabbles, cause of strikes

According to sociologist Genc Xerxa, the situation created by strikes has been made due to electoral promises by the Government of Kosovo, as well as because of the beliefs created that there are conditions for all.

This situation if the parties have extremely different differences in attitudes and do not approach compromise only to exacerbate the created status quo situation perhaps even by radicalising even more their actions towards realising their goal, which can negatively affect government sustainability as a result of an entire social collapse caused by multiple attacks of”, Xrx told the Kosovo Journal of Life.

He added that union demands are fair, as according to him, society depends on these sectors.

The requirements are legitimate for education, health, etc., as they are the fundamental link of a real state that needs to rely on intelligence estability, as they are social groups that the state must identify with these categories of knowledge and social affirmation. To that end, they should also have the rightful place in establishing their well-being, as our development as a society depends on these sectors of what state we want to create, of intellect or of ignorant people by repositioning them and taking over the head of social hierarchy in our social elites”, Xxa told JNK.

Such strikes on the Bill had also been announced during 2018, as these unions had also had meetings with the prime minister to find a common language, but that did not happen.
