Rectors of Kosovo's six public universities today held the joint conference to review the State Council of Quality announcement about meeting decisions of January 15th and January 16th 2019, for attracting accreditation and rejecting 42 research programmes.

According to the announcement from the conference, the State Council of Quality has shown irresponsability to legal provisions in force.

“O RCA as an eyewitness to the process comes to the conclusion that: The findings of the Conference of Public Universities Rectors, that the KSC has shown irresponsability to legal provisions, professional responsibility and political tendency in the face of their programmes are untrue and unstable”, said the ORCA report.

Of the new application for software accreditation, KSC has given the green light for 104 programmes, 53 of public universities and 51 private institutions, while rejecting 107 programmes, 28 of public universities and 79 private institutions.

During the wave of 185 existing programmes, accreditation has been continued to 124 public university programmes and 61 programmes of private institutions, meanwhile, has attracted accreditment for 74 programmes, 40 of public universities and 35 of private institutions.

According to the ORCA, the state of public universities and private institutions that still have a problem meeting the minimum criteria, that of 3 The field PhD for the program as a programme-bearer.

The language used in the response of the Public Universities Rectors Conference is also disturbing when it comes to charges of politicisation, especially when we consider the fact that some reactors of this conference have serious problems with academic integrity and that the way they choose has been presented in media over the years as the pure political influence of different ruling parties” is said in response.
