The year 2019 has just entered and everyone has their own ambitions. A better job, a demand for a raise, or a promotion to duty are on the plans and expectations of many. But how the work environment responds to our demands.

What are the most expected professions? How much is paid to directors in Albania? What is the tendency of salaries according to different professions? Is it better and easier to find a good job in the capital or a circle?

According to EPPC Albania & Kosovo, the recruiting and training company has prepared behind the request of Monitor a guide with the most required positions by experts and underqualified employees and respective salaries.

The most wanted management positions during 2018 have been: (1 most wanted, 5 less wanted)

Director Sales?

Director Production/Operation/ Logistic;

Director General. (CEO)

Salaries for management level ( CEO-1, higher than number 1 to 4, ranges from 150,000 net Leke to 300,000 ] 450,000 net cash. Their salary fluctuates from the industry where they work, the complexity of responsibilities, etc. While the General Director (CEO)'s salary is approximately twice as high as CEOs 1. This category ( CEO and CEO-1) there has been no significant increase during 2018 on fixed pay, but there has been an increase in target or additional pay target (known as a bonus), which is depending on measurable results.

Jobs at the expert level.

Jobs at the level of experts have had a high demand during 2018. Their salaries continue to rise, and this year there have been about 5-10% higher than a year ago. Salaries vary from 40,000 net Leke to 100,000 net cash.

The most popular positions during 2018 were:

Unqualified Jobs

The job requirement in this category is much greater than the offer. There are whole areas of unqualified unemployed people, where there are mostly one or two fasons or construction sites. But despite the fact that these are unqualified jobs, it still requires some basic social knowledge to start the job, from the possibility of these people getting informed about their free workplace and what is required, or to present themselves to the employer with minimum behavior and access to work so that work can be made available. The lack of these basic elements, but often the background mentality that especially affects women and girls, keeps this category out of the job market. The salaries of this category have a minimum legal minimum that is grossly 24,000 Leke (from January 1st) but there are companies that have exceeded this minimum, paying at net 28,000 new cash levels and in rare cases 30,000 net 30,000 new Leke per month.

What's expected in 2019?

During 2019, according to the EPPC Albania & Kosovo assessment, demand and circulation for senior and medium-sized executives ( CEO, CEO-1 and CEO-2, as well as qualified or not employees in the following areas:

Selling in the field according to sectors;

Service to client (face or over the phone);

Hotel service workers;

Information technology for Software, Network, Data Conservation, etc. ;

Electricist, mechanic, plumber, carpenter, mason, maintenance;

Financial specialist;

Engineer;

Construction workers;

Fear workers;

Work safety and health specialist;

Office/administration assistant.

Sectors That Can Expect Page Growth

“The significant changes in the labour market are influenced by the country's economic development and investment”, says Erald pashaj, director of EPPC Albania & Kosovo. “Among the latter are the key foreign investment that affects the growth of the job supply, the demand for qualified personnel to implement standards, professional staff growth, and, therefore, increase the wage rate”. Years ago in the banking sector, telecommunications and pharmaceuticals, it was foreign investment that increased the level of wages in these sectors and changed the labour market. During 2019 it is expected to increase the minimum gross wage from 24,000 Leke to 26,000 new cash a month, as well as the hotel-turism sector to have the most positive changes in wages, prompted by recent developments in the sector.

“Viti 2019 will again recognise wage increases for leadership categories and specialists, mainly driven by district demand between current businesses, but by the expected movements of this category in EU countries, where the job bid in Germany” is first, Pashaj said.

Some events that have easily appeared in the last few years were observed during 2018, but during 2018 they felt more than before.

According to the EPPC assessment, today there is a great difference between Tirana and the rest of the country. This distinction is evident in many aspects of life, but it is even more common in the job market. In 2018 the labour market in Tirana had several moves, negative and positive. There were job cuts, company defaults, but also expansions of existing companies or new middle companies or new public-funded projects. On the other hand, in many circles there is a long state of stagnation, followed by job offers and sad in terms of knowledge and access by job seekers even in that low supply. The desire of companies to expand activity in other circles outside Tirana exists, but this desire does not respond to the level of job seekers in the circle. Today, working in every company, however simple and unappreciated, requires at least some basic skills, social and human skills, such as communication, speech, reading, hearing, responsible behavior, respect, etc.

A number of skills related to the profession are also needed in parallel to how work tools are kept, how office equipment is used, how a customer is served at a bar or in a restaurant, or how it is managed without risk to himself and colleagues, etc. If basic skills as higher are not improved, this category will continue to face employment difficulties. Even improving social skills is even more important to give you an opportunity to enter a job, where she can learn the basic skills of the profession first. These social skills and behavior are always needed everywhere.

Beyond the position and work that a person will perform, this year and next will be seen more than the company will work for. The reputation of employers has become even more important than the work that is offered. This will be a positive phenomenon for the market, because it will encourage employers to take appropriate measures to classify higher and therefore attract more and more skilled workers.

Also during 2018, a move by qualified and semiqualified workers was felt toward Germany. The demand for work on the German market expanded beyond long-wanted positions as IT, doctors and nurses, but also in other middle positions, such as barbers, truck drivers, etc. This request during 2018 was contained by the German legalist, who is not yet fully extenuating, but also by the lack of a required professional minimum or basic German-language recognition.

Qualified jobs.

We at EPPC get over 100 job applications every day, where most of them are applications for qualified jobs, from Director Chief Finance, Director of Sales to Special Marketing, etc.”, says Pashaj.

Not all applicants are unemployed, I can even say about 70% of them are at work, but are looking for jobs/Locations and better companies than they currently work. And 30% are temporarily out of work or leaving a job. A poll that we in EPPC have made years in the country has shown that 66% of employees in Albania are dissatisfied with the work they do. Therefore, it is no coincidence that 70% of the daily applications at EPPC are from employees who are in working relations. Remember, though, that employers also seek the change of existing employees. Employment of the right people directly affects company results, and hiring/or keeping the wrong people has serious consequences for business, team and working atmosphere. Therefore, employers are willing to pay for employment service but also to offer higher salaries for better workers in conduct and professions. It is noted that the person's conduct in the workplace is increasingly important. The staff's training on behavior, communication, client service, etc. is very required, because they are necessary for any business that will move forward”, Pryso recommends.
