A 14-year-old boy in Arizona in the United States was killed by a police officer while he ran into an alley with a gun in his hand.
The officer who was identified only as Jean was responding to a citizen's phone call, who reported on a suspicious vehicle and Jean was approached with a gray Chevy clip that appeared to be involved in a theft parked in an alley, Arizona Temple Police Chief Sylvia Moir said at a news conference.
A video published by the Police Department shows that the policeman hid behind a container while the boy was leaving the truck. The officer was heard telling the young man to raise his hands up, Klan Kosova reports.
“He has a handgun,” Jaen has been heard saying on video, reports CNN.
“Nam was a 1911 replica gun that the boy stole from the” truck, Moir said.
Other stolen items were also found in him.
As the boy goes almost down the alley, the officer shoots twice.
One of the shots hit the 14-year-old in the shoulder and the other hit a wall at the end of the alley, Moir said.
The authorities gave no cause for death.
