The new wage bill proposed by the Haradinaj government has caused widespread dissatisfaction, which has led different sectors to enter the strike.

The sectors that are currently on strike are not accepting the government's salary hikes.

The president has the highest pay cofficiency, which is estimated by the coeffient 12. It will have a salary of 2,868 euros, amounting to about 196 euros more than it currently has and is 2,672 euros.

With the government's recent decision, the prime minister's salary will be 2950 euros. But, recently, the prime minister has demanded that this salary be reduced.

This initiative of the prime minister to cut his salary has joined the head of the Assembly, Kadri Wessel. But according to the salary law he and the president of the Constitutional Court will have 2,390 euros' salary, as they have a salary co-efficinate 11.

The Director of the Intelligence Agency, as well as the judges of the Constitutional Court, will have the 8.50 co-efficiency, which means receiving a monthly salary of 2,031 euros.

High salary increases have benefited and Prime Minister Haradinaj's subordinates.

Of 2,500 euros will be paid to deputy prime ministers, while earlier paid by 1,3356 euros -- an increase of close to 90 per cent.

They will not fare badly with salaries or ministers. They will now be paid 2,000 euros per month, up from 1,270.50 euros paid earlier, with an increase of more than 70 per cent. While deputy ministers will be the only ones to be dropped wages, down from 1,182.50 euros, they will be paid for months at 1,150 euros. But their salary cut is too small, only 32 euros.

Senior political advisers will also enjoy high salaries. The prime minister's top adviser and minister have so far been paid by 693 euros, but from now they will be paid 1.340 euros, 1,0050 euros, respectively, with nearly 100 per cent increase. Meanwhile, the minister's political adviser will now be paid 800 euros grossly, out of the 577.50 gross euros it was paid earlier.

Also, assistants and drivers will enjoy high salaries. The prime minister's Senior Assistant will now pay 970 euros. The minister's Senior Assistant will have a 600-euro salary of 407.55 euros, or 80 per cent more, while its driver will be paid 580 euros out of the previous $348.56, with a salary increase of over 80 per cent.

These are not the only benefits the Government Cabinet will have in the new draft for wages.

Referenced to Article 21, rule point 1 for the fields of administrative responsibility of the Office of Prime Minister and Ministers reportedly the prime minister could appoint up to 12 political advisers.

But, with the change in order, the number of advisers rises for 9 and the prime minister can appoint up to 21 political advisers.

Each of these 88 top officials has a right to a driver, who plays the prime minister, his deputy ministers, and their deputy. So there are 88 drivers who have to work for the prime minister, deputy prime ministers, ministers and deputy ministers.

This classification in the Bill on the Salaries has particularly led to discontent with teachers and doctors. They require the most dignified treatment and promotion of the salary cofficient. Out of 12 cofficiences, according to the draft order, teachers have a salary cofficiency under 3. The largest salary in education is that of the Middle School Director, who receives 645 euros a month.

Compared to the salaries of government chiefs in the Western Balkans, it turns out Prime Minister Haradinaj has the highest salary in the region. Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, has 1,700 euros in monthly pay. Rama's 400-euro salary is Macedonia's Prime Minister Zoran Zaev with 1,300 euros. Montenegrin Prime Minister Dusko Markovic has a salary of 1,130 euros, while Ana Brnabiq, the Serbian government's chief, is paid only 1,000 euros a month.

Prime Minister Haradinaj's adviser, Erroll Beleg, at RTV Dukaagjini, has said the salary law will go to the Assembly on 31 January to vote.
