Mustafa: A year ago, I move my hands and legs, I'm writing with my own hands, and I'm coming back.

LDK chairman Isa Mustafa has remembered a anniversary when he faced health rehabilitation.

He has commended Kosovo doctors, friends and associates from all Albanian lands, who were then nearby.

Here's what Mustafa wrote in FB:

Dear Friends

Today, I have a year of coping with health rehabilitation. On the evening of January 7, 2018, I felt that I was losing the power of my hands and feet. After 24 hours at the American Hospital, Dr. Blerim Mufti identified the correct diagnosis, the Gulian Merren Syndrome, and wrote the necessary therapy. In Germany they were surprised at the quick identification made by Kosovo doctors of this very rare disease (one to two cases in a hundred thousand inhabitants).

Today, when writing with my own hands, I take the opportunity to thank the team of doctors and nurses at the American Hospital in Pristina, who in the early days of my illness took care of me, to thank the prof.dr. Halil Krasniqi, for my continued care while at the “Qualenof”, in Germany's Bad Will Baden and separately prof Dr. Africa Gashi and the excellent team of physical therapists in Pristina, Nadira Bosnjak and Amir Tyrbetar and my grandson Feti Gashi.

During all this time, although I was totally motionless at my hands and feet, I had the courage to be challenged with this disease; I trusted in God, myself, and doctors to recover. All the while, I haven't stopped working and read. The recovery is coming slowly, in order.

My family has always been holy to me. Spouser's wife, Arben and Besnik boys, daughter Aferdita, Brother Mustafa and his daughter, Blerina, have not left me alone, either at the American Hospital, then three months in Germany and now in Pristina. Without their support, I could hardly stand it. Near the family, during their stay in Germany, Valon Ademi, Remzi Ejupi, Vlora Dumisin, Valon Dumosh and Naser Gashi have stayed and helped.

I thank friends, co-workers from the LDK, from ASHAK, the Economic Faculty, representatives of institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, the Republic of Albania, and Albanian political leaders from Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia and the Presevo Valley, who gave me courage during this period. Except I thank neighbors, citizens, and fellow countrymen for their concern! IM
