Berlin announced International Women's Day, March 8th, official day off after a majority of MPs voted today in the country's Parliament.
The German capital is now the first of the 16 states to make the difference, which enters the insult this year.
However, the Berlin Parliament also declared May 8th as a holiday day to mark the 75th anniversary of the unconditional surrender of the Nazi regime in 1945.
This decision will apply only to May 8th of this year and not to other years, Arsh follows.
Politicians of Berlin's ruling coalition consisting of three parties -- the Social Democrats (SPD), “Linke” and the Gelbri -- welcomed this decision as a sign of progress in gender equality.
