Isa Mustafa: I regret choosing Thaci President

The Democratic League of Kosovo says it is preoccupied with the way the country is being led and that the best way would be for this government to go home. The leader of this party, Isa Mustafa, has counted a series of criticisms at the address of the Haradinaj government, starting with the 100 per cent tax on Serbian goods, dialogue in Brussels and other issues. Mustafa even says the policies of this government have highlighted Kosovo's reports with the EU.

We consider that this government should go home. This government has questioned our relations with the EU. We appreciated President Trump's letter. For us, it is meaningless that at the time Kosovo has received this letter to refrain from actions, the Kosovo government adds 100 per cent measures, instead of considering a letter coming to us from a state that also depends on the future of Kosovo state”, Mustafa has said.

However, Mustafa does not regret the election of Hashim Thaci President, since according to him, the LDK is a party that sticks to agreements.

I have no regrets at all because the Constitution has brought us into this situation that we cannot govern ourselves. And, Mr. Thaci we voted for president because we have implemented the agreement. I think I've governed correctly and today I say those people, the LDK ministers, have worked well. I don't agree with the political discourse he has right now. PDK”, Mustafa said.

The first of the LDK is convinced that his party has the citizens' trust with about 2730 per cent of them. While he says he will focus on two issues: Bringing down unemployment and fighting crime and corruption.

As far as participation in the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is concerned, Mustafa said he would give their contribution in other ways, but that the Government is the one that should take the key responsibility for the issue.

“We have declared that we will make our contribution to the Kosovo Assembly. We have told the internationals that we will continue to work with them, but the government should take its responsibility for dialogue and that responsibility not to throw it to the opposition”, Mustafa said.
