The US House of Representatives has overwhelmingly adopted a bill confirming Congress' support for NATO, amid new concerns over President Donald Trump's commitment to the 29-member alliance.
The law was passed by 357 votes for and 22 against and prohibits the use of funds to withdraw from the Alliance, American media reports.
As such, it confirms that US policy is to remain as part of the alliance.
Long ago, New York Times had reported that US President Trump last year has presented several times the idea of withdrawing the United States from NATO, Kosovo Press broadcasts.
Just hours before the vote, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Es Mitchell submitted his resignation.
Mitchell is an open supporter of NATO.
