This is how it was made known in the “road to a modern Kosovo Civil Code”, organised by the project funded by the European Union “Support Civil Code.
In this case, Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri said that once he received the prime minister's mandate, he had the civil code.
The civil code has been and is one of the major priorities, and is also the most important document behind the Constitution. During the period of drafting this code, we have conveyed contemporary civil rights trends. We have also given importance to the tradition of our people. We have paid attention to our aspirations in the European Union. All of this has led us to work on the civil code draft”, he said.
EU Office chief Natalia Apostolova said that for more than four years hard work has been achieved to become a big deal.
She said the code regulates family relations, obligations and heritage and civil rights. Apostolova said these are all grouped into a code that is accessible to everyone.
“In this process has been given special attention to the Kosovo context. It is very important that the product we present today is not a finished product, we are handing over a draft government to make comments. This is actually another step, and I would invite you all to attend. The code we have today is for each of you. The bill was produced in Albanian. The project has also prepared a memorandum on how this code will be used. From today it is the government that ends the civil code”, she said.
