To prevent road accidents, the Ministry of Infrastructure will decide, in May, radar cameras on every national street in the Republic of Kosovo. Road communications experts say the end of February will bring black ice, where it can bring other fatalities. Police appeal to drivers to be careful, especially in the early hours of the morning, where frost is on the street because of cold weather.

Communications expert Nol Deday estimates that the country's institutions are not prepared at all for safety measures from road accidents. He says Kosovo car drivers lack information and during driving do not know what will happen at certain times.

Dedaj warned the black ice in late February, which, according to him, could cause other fatal accidents.

By the end of the second month, black ice is expected to occur, which leaders and populations are unaware that this factor could bring fatal accidents. In some Kosovo countries, where low temperatures are, there is steam and there is thick fog, in which cases black ice appears. I'm going to mention just two points, the Slatine road and the Mazghi route to Obilic, here is uncertainty and the risk to fatality is great. This is the absence of our institutions, which have never done tested”, he told Radio Kosovo.

He added that apps should be made where automotive drivers can receive electronic information for certain points of road that are not identified.

To prevent fatal accidents, the Ministry of Infrastructure this year has made an agreement with the Hungarian government on implementing the intelligence system of road communications management. The ministry's informative official, Rexhep Kadriu, has told Kosovo Radio that by May, on any national road in the Republic of Kosovo, radars will be deployed with cameras.

The “in April or May will set up radar cameras on national roads in the Republic of Kosovo. During 2018, however, we have put forth great effort to get our roads on a good road signal. We have now doubled the budget, which amounts to 4 million, for investments in road signals”, he said.

Kadriu added that the Ministry of Infrastructure, based on contracts it has had with economic operators, has also established white sidelines over many years, but, as he says, not all of them have been completed and are expected to be completed in improved time in spring.

Kosovo Police spokesman Bucky Kelan has appealed to the drivers to take care of the roads, especially in the early hours of the morning, where there may be frosts due to weather conditions. He indicated that on the occasion of the New Year's note there have been two fatal accidents.

Overall statistics on the 31st, have recorded two accidents with fatal consequences. January 1st, it has gone without fatal accidents, and by the 2nd, there has been an accident in a Suhareka village, where a person has hit a footman and, as a result of the stroke, the person has passed away”, he said.

We remember that the number of fatal accidents in Kosovo has been very disturbing. By 2018, 110 people have lost their lives.
