Bugajski has stressed that the lack of consensus on vital issues such as dialogue in Kosovo's political spectrum could damage the process, but also its future.
Asked whether there is any document referring to partition, partitioning Kosovo or exchanging territories with Serbia, Bugajski stressed that he is unaware that any such documents exist.
I remember that now when the dialogue intensifys, we will know more about this process. However, the negotiations process should be maximum transparent, while Kosovo citizens should be more insistent on this constitutionalx1> transparency, Bugajski told RTK.
Asked whether they offer guarantees that Kosovo can gain seats at the UN if an agreement between Pristina and Belgrade is reached, and if such agreement is being implemented offers guarantees to the US and the EU, Bugajski expressed sceptical.
I don't know how this can happen. We know there's Russia and China”, Bugajski said.
He added that the United States should become more involved in processes for and around Kosovo, but that it can do so when the agreement is near.
Bugajski explained that the US has not changed the position for primary objective in relation to Pristina, that Kosovo should be a stable state.
This is a US target. What has changed is only the strategy for achieving long-term stability”, CEPA analyst Janusz Bugajski noted.
The United States of America is aimed at a long-term solution for Kosovo.
“Kosovo should be part of international bodies, but it should be attentive because any attempt to divide territory or change borders in Ballka can be used by Russia for its interests, not for the interests of the region”, Bugajski said.
He has revealed that he is aware of the dilemmas between the president of Kosovo and its prime minister, as he is aware of the dilemmas between the ruling coalition and a part of the opposition in relation to possible scenarios that could result from the eventual agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.
“The lack of consensus on such important issues as borders can harm not only the dialogue process but also its” future, Bugajski underlined. The year 2019 is central to establish a stable and long-term stability here.
As for other developments, Bugajski noted that during the 30 years since he was present in the Balkans, he has noted that Kosovo has seen visible progress. But as he added, there are problems.
“You may call them crime or corruption, I call them the combination of politics and”, Bugajski said.
