The Vetevendosje movement, through a media announcement, shows it has started from Gjilani the tour of mobilizing gatherings to protect sovereignty and against partitioning Kosovo. According to this party's announcement, beside President Albin Kurti, MP Shemsy Syla and Assemblywoman Arjeta Rexhepi, the VV Centre's chairman in Gjilan, Nevzad Isufi [...]
According to this party's announcement, alongside President Albin Kurti, MP Shemsy Syla and Assemblywoman Arjeta Rexhepi, the VV Centre in Gjilan, Navzad Isufi “accused President Thaci of becoming the most divisive figure in politics, which is now trying to divide the country's body”.
According to the announcement, Isufi cited problems caused by decentralisation in the Anamorawa municipality and the continued discrimination of Albanians in the Presevo Valley.
“Even an open office to address the problems of Albanians in Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc has been closed without explanation by Lufty Mayor Haziri”, the report said.
“Local and central politicians have not been able to solve even these small issues, so it is supreme to think that they will solve bigger issues like northern Kosovo and the unification of eastern Kosovo”, Isufi concluded.
In the VV communiqué, MP Shemsy Syla reportedly expressed the full willingness and organisation of the Movement and the popular for total mobilization in every home, village, neighbourhood and town. Syla said that, <x0 this youth and Vetevendosje Movement is the army of this people, let's not think who has no claim to this country”.
Assemblywoman Arjeta Rexhepi, simultaneously part of the woman's secretariat within the Movement, expressed enthusiasm for the presence of women at the gathering and their willingness to engage in these political processes and to support every step of the Republic's defence protests.
In the final address, President Albin Kurti said that 10 years after the launch of the decentralisation process, which has crippled Kosovo and Anamorva, a assessment of this disability would have to be made, and not to go up a dangerous game with a personal adventure of Thaci, which is adjusting to Belgrade's shovinist aspirations.
While informing citizens of the Movement's decision to organise mass protests and co-ordination with LDK, Kurti said the time has come for Kosovo's citizen to be established on the political scene, where he has been abandoned by those who have to protect and represent interests”.
In addition, he reiterated the Movement's non-negotiable stance that the president cannot go into dialogue without principle and mandate; that Thaci's personal adventures cannot be allowed to become painful compromises for Kosovo; that the more dangerous Thaci's career, the more he endangers Kosovo; and that his idea of border correction has been relating what is irrestable, independence and integrity of Kosovo.
Kurti summed up the Movement's stance, explaining that talks with Serbia would have to start with the demand for recognition of independence, paying back war damages and guaranteeing reciprocity of rights. “What Serbs in Kosovo have for rights must also have Albanians in Presevo, Medvedja, Bujanoc, but not only”, Vetevendosje chairman said at the end of his speech.
