Following their meeting with Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli, the organiser of the protest of the former Kosovo Liberation Army fighters from the Drenica region, Faik Zogaj, has warned violent protests if their demands are not met within 30 days.
The group of former Kosovo Liberation Army fighters from the Drenica region was to clear the list of fake veterans within 30 days and file charges for persons who are illegally receiving veteran salaries.
We asked the demands we sent to the assembly. The three-member framework has only supported one of the veterans' lists cleared. The other two requests of Sylejman Selimi's release and Lumez dismissal gave no comment”, Zogaj said.
He indicated he had cleared up the situation within the meeting, adding that Zogaj is demanding his rights.
I got a little bit out of control in the assembly, but I'm not to blame because I'm asking for my rights. Within 30 days if the prosecution does not file charges for counterfeit veterans we will act. This is the latest protest involving veterans”, he added.
In the end, Zogaj said they have no choice, only to protest violently unless the criteria sought by veterans are met.
We've been following three years, if there's justice, cleaning lists. Our actions cannot be publicized anymore. We have no other solution. We need to be violent unless demands are applied. If the demand to clear the lists doesn't apply, we'll clear our lists by ourselves and we know how to clean it.
