Only because of the failure of the Energy Agreement, COSTT loses millions of euros each year, while not having a company that collects energy expenses north of the country, Kosovo is being forced to withdraw energy unauthorized by the Continental Europe Energy Network (ENSTO-E), writes today “Koha Ditore”.
The country's institutions have failed for years to convince the Serbian state to honour the agreements it itself has signed. And for that, economic connoisseurs have a proposal.
The chairman of the Kosovo Chamber of Economics, Berat Rukiqi, says the direct damage to the north, which is done to Kosovo, is about 30m euros a year. More than that, according to him, are indirect damage, such as the inability to operate the 400 Kv interconcectative line with Albania.
To force Serbia to abide by the agreements signed in Brussels, it proposes energy tax for any product imported from this state.
