Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, speaking of his initiative for the Kosovo Valley to join Kosovo, has said victory over Serbia is political, not military, victory.
In an interview for Public Television, President Thaci has said that even during the war, Kosovo has achieved political victory over Serbia, not military.
Regarding statements that borders are only moving to war, he has said this issue ended 20 years ago, with the end of the war. He has also said that even before the NATO bombing, talks and negotiations have been held.
I would be unfair if I claim it's my personal idea, but here Serbia has nothing to do with it. It's the idea of President Rugova saying '92-93, then it's the idea of the mayor of Gjilan. But then there's my original idea of joining Presevo, Bujanoc and Medvedja, and I talk here about taking and not talking about giving”, he said, and added that there is no one who can force him to sign something where Wyman is not of Kosovo, where north is not Kosovo, or Trepca is not of Kosovo.
He said that, according to credit data, Kosovo citizens support his idea of more than 85 per cent to 90 per cent.
Asked about Edi Rama's influence on his idea, he said he does not accept influence by anyone and praised that if he had heard in the 1990s Albania's politicians, we would have accepted an autonomy within Serbia, while confirming that the political situation in Albania is now different because he is a member of NATO and should act like one.
