Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, said he has accepted the request of Serbian Army Chief General Staff Lubisa Dickovic for retirement.
Dikovic will be replaced by Milan Mojsilovic.
I want to thank General Dikovovic for his honorable and dedicated approach. I am grateful for everything he has done for Serbia and the Serbian people”, Vuciq said at a news conference in Belgrade.
Dikovic, during the war in Kosovo, has been commander of the 37th Brigade of the Yugoslav Army.
The Fund for Humanitarian Law in Serbia has said it possesses documents showing that the killings of Albanian civilians in Rezalla have taken part in the soldiers of Brigade 37.
Dikovovic has denied these claims and Serbian prosecutors have not filed any charges against him.
