Meghan McCain spoke at Washington Cathedral near her late father's body John McCain.
She showed how different he was from President Donald Trump, who was not present at the ceremony and with whom the former senator had no good reports.
Although Meghan McCain did not mention the American president by name she made several references during her speech.
John McCain's <x0... America doesn't need to be magnificent again, because America was always wonderful, she said, referring to Trump's campaign slogan in the 2016 elections.
Word was conveyed with applause.
The former plane, who was imprisoned in Vietnam for more than five years, will be buried tomorrow in college where he studied, at the U.S. Marine Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
McCain died last Saturday at 81, after a long battle with brain cancer.
