The Social Democrat Party has reacted after four workers in Ferizaj during yesterday's day collapsed from the height of the facility they were working on, suffering serious injuries. Even four workers suffer at their place of work. The case that happened yesterday in Ferizaj, where four construction workers fell from the height to the facility they were working on, is not unique. Unfortunately, these cases have begun to become common in Kosovo. In the last six years alone, 61 workers have lost their lives in their workplace. The Social Democrat Party invites responsible bodies; The Ministry of Labour and Social Management, as well as the labour Inspectorate, urgently ensure the implementation and monitoring of the Labour Law and the Law for Safety and Health at Work”, the PSD's response is said.
According to the PSD, the labour inspectorate should be inspected in terms of its work even against employers who are not implementing legal provisions in force to provide workers at their workplace.
“Do not ensure basic security conditions at work speak aloud for treatment of workers in Kosovo. Workers, especially those in the private sector, work under very difficult conditions for a minimum wage, long-term, well-deserved and without any security whatsoever, say in response.
The PSD estimates that accident deaths and injuries are the culmination of daily mistreatment and exploitation.
According to her, this should not be allowed.
It is therefore important that the labour Inspectorate have the necessary number of inspectors and that he has the determination to ensure law enforcement. Public institutions should come up with workers and their rights”, said in the end. /Periscopi/
