But while the protest of different unions has been peaceful, numerous police forces have used tear gas bombs to disperse groups of right-wing extremes participating in the main rally held against Greece's agreement with Macedonia.

At the same time, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has inaugurated the 83rd Thessaloniki International Fair and has delivered a speech announcing the government's new social measures and tax cuts, the measures he said were the first in favour of the Greek people after eight years of crisis and aid packages.
Tsipras has visited international wards participating in Panair on Saturday morning, among them the US, which is this year's honorary country accompanied by US Trade Minister and American Ambassador to Athens.
Sunday afternoon Tsipras will respond to local and foreign media journalists at the news conference held annually.
