Brazil's far-right presidential candidate survived an operation after being hit by a <x0-socialist attacker”, who said he was acting for a “mission from God” during an electoral rally.
The media drew images of the moment when presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro was stabbed in the stomach in the middle of a crowd in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, southeast Brazil.

A 40-year-old suspect, identified by police as Adélio Bispo de Oliveira, has been arrested during the attack, claiming he was not normal mentally.
Oliveira was told he was a member of the leftist party, PSOL, which has been in power from 2007 to 2014.
On his Facebook page, the assailant has recently posted messages criticising Bolsonaron and the support of President Nicolas Maduro's socialist government in Venezuela.
