Former Police Director: Dialogue affects Interpol membership

Besides government officials, even connoisseurs of security issues have suggested that during this year the state of Kosovo is better likely to become part of the international security organisation, Interpol. Former Police Director-General Behar Selimi has told the newspaper “New age”
Former Police Director-General Behar Selimi has told the newspaper “The new age” that there is generally a change in the mood of states which have had reservations for Kosovo to become part of this organisation.
He has stressed that it is in the best interests of national and regional security if Kosovo membership in Interpol.
Selimi has estimated that the dialogue process will not have a direct impact on Kosovo's membership in Interpol because, according to him, this is rather a matter of regional and international security.
