Pensions of 175 euros, which received 46 thousand veterans -- 20 thousand of them false -- cost the Kosovo budget 68,153,533.14 euros.
In the indictment it has been proposed that the court issue the motion to prevent the payment of legally acquired pensions as KLA veterans until the outcome of the criminal procedure.
Kosovo's Special Prosecutor has filed charges against 12 members of the Government Commission for recognising and verifying the status of KLA war veterans.
The incident is raised against: Agim Ceku, Nuredin Lushtaku, Sadik Halitijaha, Shumbin Demaliyaaj, Qele Gashi, Shukri Buja, Ahmet Daku, Rrustem Berisha, Faik Fazliu, Smajl Elezaj, Fadil Shudreaj and Xavit Yashari.
Of the 20,000 veterans who broke into the list, Dukagjin Operative Zone is the most affected area.
The prosecution collected the data this way:
In Drenica's Operative Zone, there are 2330 members who have been added to the list of illegal veterans.
In the Postrik Operative Zone, 4701 members are listed who have been added to the list of illegal veterans.
In the Dukagjin Operative Zone, the names of 7949 members who have been added to the list of illegal veterans.
At Shala Operative Zone, 1389 members have been added to the list of illegal veterans.
In the Norodyme Operative Zone, 823 members have been added to the list of illegal veterans from prosecutors.
In the Operational Zone of Karadaku, the prosecution lists the names of 396 members BAR vetane.
In Operation Arrow, the prosecution lists the names of 1035 members who have been added to the list of illegal veterans.
In the KLA General Staff, the prosecution lists 272 members who have been added to the list of illegal veterans.
In the MMRK, the prosecution lists 107 members who list illegal veterans.
In UCMPM, the prosecution lists 779 members who allegedly have been added to the list of illegal veterans.
We remember, that Kosovo Special Prosecutor Elez Blakaj's Prosecutor on August 15th of this year had resigned because of threats he accepted during his work as a prosecutor when investigating the huge veterans' lists. This prompted the process to accelerate as well as severe reactions from the international community.
The news has revealed the names of Drenica's operating zone, which you find lower. We're going to bring back the names from other veterans' areas that the Prosecutor says are deceptive.
