The Central Election Commission (KQZ) is dysfunctional since March 27th, when it has completed its mandate to its members, while President Hashim Thaci is expected to appoint new members at the end of this month. At least this way they declare MPs from the ruling coalition, who say that according to information they have from the President's Office, the CEC will be functional during September.
Meanwhile, the opposition have said President Thaci is deliberately dragging on this very important process for the country.
The head of state has so far not appointed representatives of political parties, while addressing the Constitutional Court, demanding clarification of how many representatives belong to parliamentary groups.
In this regard, the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Vetevendosje Movement have handed their opinions to the Constitutional Court on the president's request to interpret the constitutional provision, which speaks of the appointment of new members.
