Mattis: Ready to Wait for Macedonia as 30th NATO Member

Macedonia's Prime Minister, Zoran Zaev, has assured US Defence Secretary James Mattis that the September 30th referendum on the name will be positive, and soon Macedonia will become part of NATO next year.
At a media conference after meeting with senior US official, the head of the Government of Macedonia thanked the US Secretary of Defence for his visit to Skopje and his personal and US support for the country's NATO membership.
US Defence Secretary, on the other hand, thanked Prime Minister and Defence Minister Radmila Sugarinska for his hospitality. He said the US to assess Prime Minister Zaev's leadership and that it values it as a stabilising factor for the entire Balkans.
He also thanked the prime minister for his support NATO and the US Army in Afghanistan lined up side by side with American soldiers and the rest of NATO.
Among others, he said they welcome the Prespa Agreement and that they will help Macedonia in further steps towards NATO and EU membership, where he stressed that the US are willing to welcome you as a 30th NATO member.
Mattis said he expects and is eager to meet with President George Ivanov as well to discuss Macedonia's future with him.
While, Minister Sugarinska has declared that they have no dilemma that Macedonia's future is in NATO, at a table with the US.
