A small number of Macedonian citizens have gathered in front of Macedonia's Parliament building tonight, shortly after Macedonia's new name referendum deployments closed.
Those in this case have placed several anti-repute banners against the name referendum and have voiced opposition to changing Macedonia's appointment, as they think there has been a referendum earlier on the actual appointment in 1991.
One of the citizens, Goran Tsvetanov, has told Kosovo that the referendum on changing the name is unnecessary.
Tsvetanov: Not coming to referendum
“If it will be called Northern Macedonia, as Mr. Zaev says, it is necessary not to get rid of”, he said.
Another citizen, Risto Andonovski, says there is no need for changing the name, as entry into NATO does not help them in this, and that Macedonia has that name much earlier than Greeks say.
Andonovski: We had a referendum, we don't care.
Macedonia has held a referendum on September 8, 1991 for the Republic of Macedonia. The rest of us don't care about Macedonians... No need to change Macedonia's name. Macedonia is named Macedonia a thousand years earlier than the Greeks... All European and US peoples have the name that 200 to 500 years and there is no reason for changing the name”, he said.
Even Velko Pedrev speaks out against the referendum and changing the name.
Pedrev: Why vote?
Why vote? It is not the 1991 referendum, we do not need another referendum. It's over”, he said.
At 7: 00 p.m., the polls that citizens could be declared on the question “are for membership in the EU and NATO, accepting the agreement of the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Greece? ”c>pro” or “against”. After going to the polls, only people who were at the moment found in the voting facility could vote.
Voter rights had one million of 806 thousand and 336 registered voters in the Electoral List. At 3,748 locations were voted open between 7 and 19.
