Lumez's reaction after publishing veterans' lists: I've compiled Elez Blakaj. We've added no one.

The sudden departure from the work of prosecutor Elez Blakaj, who conducted investigations into KLA fraud veterans and the published list of these have sparked numerous reactions to the opinion. And about these developments today, State Attorney Alexander Lumez has spoken of. He has made it known that he could initiate an investigative procedure for persons or person who released to public lists of persons deemed a fraud of the veteran status of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

Maybe we'll look at the possibility if we have evidence and information that someone has released these lists, then normal we can start a criminal procedure. But their data is included in the indictment, and at the moment of sending the indictment to the Court it should in principle be distributed to responsible persons, and in this case to 12 people who have been charged. But that's why the Court has to tell you better what it did with what we sent”, Lumez said about Indexline.

Lumez has made it known that the issue should start with personal data, their publication then know who put them in public and what punishment it can have.

Of course, the names of persons considered to be involved as illegal recipients should be included in the indictment. Chief Prosecutor Lumezi has also spoken about the recent statement made by former Special Prosecutor Elez Blakaj, who said he does not take responsibility for the published lists, as two thousand names have been added to the lists, for which he has no knowledge. No names have been added according to Lumez, and lists have not been affected.

We haven't actually added names, we haven't touched the lists, so the lists are compiled by prosecutor Blakaj and the apps are controlled by Blakaj, so they're all done by him. So the applications he identified during the investigation into the case against the law we have put into action, the new prosecutor has not taken investigative steps, only reviewed the case Blackaj has handled and handed the proposal to prevent the payment of veterans. So the investigation didn't do it, it's just that it's got all the work done by prosecutor Blakaj”, Chief Prosecutor Lumez said.

The first prosecutor has stated that if any KLA veteran has been injured by involvement in the name in the list of illegal beneficiaries then there will be a request that their names be withdrawn as illegal beneficiaries and, in this case, the Court will be proposed, that, on the basis of documentation to them, not implement the provisional provision of stopping the payment of the KLA war veteran's personal pension.

The head of the State Prosecutor has also been asked how he will respond to Blakaj in the event he has made such concessions, putting names of true fighters on fraudulent lists.

Lumez doesn't believe there's been so many mistakes.

“I don't believe there are so many mistakes, but the lists are made by prosecutor Blakaj on the basis of identifying apps and criteria that are designed to inform the beneficiaries of the benefits from the veteran KLA status. There are many who do not prove to be veterans as the first criteria for choosing them, and these belong to the anti-legal group”, Lumez added.

He has declared that he does not know the reason for Blakaj's departure, and that he can according to him.

Otherwise 46 thousand Kosovo Liberation Army veterans received pensions of 170 euros, 20,000 of which are highlighted as frauds, which cost the country's budget 68,153,533.14 euros.
