The company is being prosecuted for violations of hygiene regulations and for sending an expired meat pile to Kosovo, but without fraudulent purposes.
In the summer of 2017, Kosovo authorities seized a weight of frozen meat from Vanlommel Company in Olen.
The amount of meat caught was about 20 tons, where the expiration date had expired about three weeks before the meat was seized.
According to the company, it was a human mistake: both parties were destined for the animal food industry and were sent by mistake.
The FASFC Food Agency confirmed there was no indication of deliberate fraud. The Kosovo company that accepted the meat was also involved in the scandal around the Veviba slaughter in Bastogne.
