Haradinaj seeks Italy's support for transformation of KSF into Army

That is what Elizabeth Trenta said at a meeting with Italy's Defence Minister.

According to the government's announcement, “Haradinaj has announced Minister Trenta's recent political developments in the country, improving the security situation, building good reports with neighbours, and achieving Kosovo's achievements in building a good system in rule of order and law”.

Praising Italy's major role for Kosovo's progress, Haradinaj voiced commitment to further co-operation with Italy, seeking Italy's support in the country's important processes, with particular emphasis on the transition of KSF to the Kosovo Army.

“Italia has played an important role in the consolidation and statehood of Kosovo. Support of the Italian state is needed even now in the steps we are taking in the creation of the Kosovo Army, the process of Euro-Atlantic integration of Kosovo, but also in the INTERPOL membership and other international organisations”, Haradinaj has said, stressing Kosovo's readiness to serve side-by-arms in the world. “You should be proud of your soldiers sent to Kosovo. They have served with professionalism and dignity and have given the best image to your country. Kosovo is ready to join the NATO mission in providing world peace”.

Trenta on the other hand stressed Italy's further support in the processes Kosovo is going through.

Also attending were Minister of the Kosovo Security Force Rrustem Berisha, KSF Commander Lieutenant General Beftman Rama and Italy's ambassador to Kosovo, Piero Cristoforo Sardi.

The Minister of the Kosovo Security Force and the Ministry of Defence was also signed.
