Since the end of the war in Kosovo, the issue of more than 1,600 missing persons has yet to be resolved. The biggest challenge for Kosovo institutions and society even 19 years after the war remains the dawning of the fate of undiscovered persons and the current forms of dealing with this problem.

So it was said at the discussion table “how the issue of missing persons in Kosovo”, organised today by the Democratic Institute of Kosovo in co-operation with the Parliamentary Commission for Human Rights, Gender Equality, for Undiscovered Persons and Petitions.

MP Saranda Bogujevci has expressed disappointment with the work of finding out, while demanding that competencies should be delivered to local institutions for resolving this very significant problem for our society.

The problem that I have seen, is that there is no closer co-operation with the country's institutions, but also with international institutions. Another is that part of the work was done by EULEX, while another part was done by the Commission, but also by other institutions within the government. This is seen as a problem because I think competencies should be carried over local institutions, and the share of international institutions is important to be there for support and assistance in this direction. It's our responsibility as a country to solve the issue of unsurgents”, she stressed.

While, Jahja Luka prime minister's adviser, has denied finding civil society that it has not been working on resolving the fate of the found.

He said the Haradinaj Government's priority is to dawn the fate of all missing people, regardless of their national or religious affiliation.

Luka added that as a government at no time will stop at the support of family members until the fate of the last unscathed prey is white.

According to him, the results show that nothing has been done in this regard, since over 70 percent of the missing have been found, although 1648 people are still considered undiscovered, that number is large.

“There are in Morgun Pristina, morto remains that have nothing to do with the missing and the last war. In co-operation with the municipality, we have assigned the location to Pristina's cemetery and all those morto remains that have nothing to do with war, they have nothing to do with the missing. In an evental process, they will leave the monk and go to a section of the cemetery in the dragon, because some family don't want to pick up their mortar remains, since some of them have been accomplices to the occupier. Another part has, I'm giving you an example, where there are three women from Moldova. There are people who have brought in from Kosovo's various hospitals during the war and have nothing to do with the missing”, Luka said.

The criticism for the Kosovo institutions' heads also had representatives of theless family, Bajram Kerkeyni, who said that not enough has been done in this direction.

I want to understand you all in particular the adviser, who says, don't be unduly critical. I have nothing against anyone, but I am against work that is not being done, condition that it be, Jahja Luka, Ramush Haradinaj, president and parliamentary leader. For work not being done, I'm the one who has to tell you to do this job. Research of the unsurgents at the Burimore Centre, undiscovered so far, is 640”, Kürkin said.

Researcher Teuta Hoxha-Jahaj has presented at this meeting the failure of institutions in resolving the subject of undiscovered persons. It called for more pressure on institutional leaders, but also on Serbia, to do more for finding missing persons during the recent war in Kosovo. / I
