Asmunicator Peci, representing the Vetevendosje Movement, is also deputy mayor of the municipal assembly. Very often, he heads the Municipal Assembly meetings, and he says he does so in Albanian and Serbian.
Reports with his Serbian colleagues, Ramadan Peci, say they are excellent and that there have never been problems.
Employment of residents of Zvecan's Albanian villages is a priority in his work as an assamist.
Everything, my effort, is to do a lot to hire people. Tell him that 6 or 7 people have been employed since I entered. There is great poverty here. With social assistance we have all three villages. The general physician is missing a lot. Everybody's sick. Some 80 percent of seniors are sick”, says Gurim Peci.
Residents of these villages show they face numerous problems. Hakki Kelmendi of the village of Kelmendi, which is close to the villages of Boletin and Dzeja, says the problem with sewage occurs every time it rains.
This village here has a problem with sewering, sewage. Blackwater goes out into the courtyards, into the fields. They haven't made a choice. I've heard the project has been built, but here nothing is being built”, says Hakki Kelmendi.
Lamim Peci has been working with his minibus since post-war as well as a taxi driver. For 18 years, three times a day, he carries residents of this side into the Mitrovica-Zedza-Zvecan relief.
In 2012, he decided to become a part of politics and join a political subject. That is what he did, he says, to work for residents on this side, even though he says he has no support at all from the Government of Kosovo.
I have never dealt with politics until 2012-2013. I have come in. I have decided to go in." I saw it going wrong. I've decided to come in and work for everyone else. And there's no money that corrupts me”, says Peci.
Ramadan Peci and other residents of these villages say they are concerned with the idea of changing borders. They say no one has asked them if this should be done.
The Zvecan municipality, which is in the northern part of Kosovo, has over 10,000 inhabitants. This municipality has 35 villages, and three of them are mostly inhabited by Albanians.
