Publishing the lists of fraud veterans has brought much trouble and surprise to the true veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army. These lists also reveal the names of soldiers who were part of the KLA and are veterans.
Hasan Tahiri is known throughout the Drenica area as the oldest veteran to have contributed to the KLA. Even officials of the KLA's OVL organization claim this.
The chairman of this organisation, Enter Gucati, has said of Gazeta Express that on their list of 85-year-old veterans Hasan Tahiri from Skyeraj's Pluzina figures as the only surviving veteran in Kosovo.
This is a scandal. Hasan is known as one of the oldest veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army. On our lists he figures as a veteran and he's a veteran. He has made an extraordinary contribution to the pure Liberation War”, the head of OVL) told Express.
And that Hasan Tahiri's name is found on the lists of fraudulent veterans and confirms the list published days ago in the media.
The 85-year-old is expected to press charges against this issuing.
On Friday, the State Prosecutor filed charges against the 12 members of the Government Commission, while two days later the lists of false veterans were published, with names of real veterans being found. After that, Elez Blakaj, the former prosecutor who has conducted investigations into the veterans' case, reacted, saying the unfinished indictment had been added to 2,000 names for which he is not accountable. While Gevdet Qrerici from the Council for the Protection of veterans has accused the State Prosecutor, saying it has been made deliberate to compromise the judicial process.
