About 2 thousand and 200 KED workers, as they are all over Kosovo, are expected today to go on strike from 8.30 to 16.30, while the protest will take place on the same day, at Skenderbeu Square in Pristina.
KED workers have demands to raise salaries of 150 euros in basic wage and implementation of collective contract.
The chairman of this union, Hysni Gashi, has said the situation in KED is serious enough because it is becoming a breach of workers in this company.
Looking at the situation that KED has not reflected from strikes held weeks ago, again strikes are inevitable, where tomorrow there will be a day strike of KED workers throughout Kosovo”, Gashi has said.
He added that with the demands of the workers, in the first weeks of August, when one hour strikes were held in each district, they were warning, that if things do not change, and if workers' demands are not met, they will be forced to go on general strikes.
Even the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo (BSPK) discussed the current state of workers with particular emphasis on the discontent of KEDS workers and tomorrow's warning strike by the ElektroKosovo Union FSPE.
BSPK Chairman Avni Aydin has stressed that through this strike, KEDS workers will express dissatisfaction over the nonrealism of their demands about the increase in wages and other rights that are provided with the Labour Law and collective contract, which KED employees' rights are being violated every day by their employer.
