Up to 2,500 countries in the global ranking of universities

In this ranking, which more than 12,000 universities from around the world are subjected to, Kosovo's most important public university for a relatively short time has moved to the highest level of world universities.

Four years ago the University of Pristina placed 4,937 in this ranking, while this year the UPI moved up the 2,429 position.

Pristina University Rector “hasan Pristina”, Marjan Dema, sees this positive movement in the ranking of the Webometrics as a result of recent reforms in the institution.

“Although the UPI has a lot of work until it can be considered one of the best in the world, it is a pleasure to see this progress, which confirms our reform efforts in recent years,” he said.

An Important Reform of Which The UP is attributed to the rise in this rank to the development of the research system based mainly on public university practices in the United States, where a major contribution in this respect has been given by the Joint Development Programme of Burs and Partnerships USAID and Government of Kosovo.

As in almost all American universities, The Upee has now established and functional the Bureau for Projects and Sponsorized Programmes (ZKPS), which is tasked with supporting researchers in their efforts to earn grants and manage funds for research from abroad.
