The Vetevendosje movement through a communique for the media says the struggle for equality will continue, as it demands justice for the women of “-tribble from society”.
Through a media communiqué for Vetevendosje says that, “two days ago we drew red paint towards the Kosovo Police building to symbolize the blood of women who are being killed every day and that police are allowing. We were arrested along with three other friends who were subjected to violence, as were MP Saranda Boguyevci. From the same cop who shuts the doors to women who are asking for help”
According to the VV, Kosovo police are treating violence against women as something closed and private.
They can't dare give it up. Women's security as well as all citizens should guarantee the bodies responsible that are failing every day”, says VV, broadcast Koha.net.
You must have heard of the case that the father and two boys have beaten Mom and two sisters. This news was reported two days ago. All three were released yesterday at 6:00, without trial. Those three women may still be injured with open wounds, but those who caused their wounds were released only after two days from the same place where we were ironically carrying them. So, police are not against violence”, the VV says.
Furthermore, it adds that police are supporters of violence.
When the police get victimized, it's against us facing their conscience. Otherwise, she's witnessing every day in support of female rapists. Women are getting killed. Police are pushing their hands up”, the VV says.
Self - determination points out that these rescuers save responsible officers. The police inspector rather than respond and take action against the police is serving as a justifiable tool for them.
According to the findings, there are currently no elements of any illegal action or action by police officials from the Regional Directorate of Gjakova Police. This is the conclusion of the police Inspectorate for the murder that took place in Gjakova. The inspector is now running Miradie Kelmendi. This official is involved in one of the biggest scandals in this institution. It is a public secret that with Hashim Thaci's direct intervention, she was appointed head of the Inspectorate in July of this year”, the VV says.
According to Vetevendosje, most of those who experience violence do not report, but the number of reports is increasing. And violence is also on the rise. In January alone, February 2018, 500 women reported violence against them.
The leading police officials are very busy managing criminal networks, not rarely even running them. From human trafficking to protection of criminals. This phenomenon is criminalizing more and more police activity every day in its entire segments. Failure to react and tolerate violence in cases when it happens to women and children is in line with this criminalisation of the police dome. There can be no corruption of directors and rigorous atmosphere within the police. This policeman's hands are on the blood of women”, adds Vetevendosje.
Furthermore in the communiqué it is said that, “we know police are the last instigation testing pressure on women. Women are completely ignored in Kosovo. Public and private spheres are discriminated against, and the few women who enjoy certain rights and freedoms are far more difficult than men. When a country is not of the right it produces only inequality, and always here women suffer worse. In all comparison figures in relation to men, women today stand worse, not because of their own fault, but for the whole society. But Kosovo women will not endure an unfair state. We will not tolerate a state of violence”.
We are also aware that to live our formal rights, we must fight for them. And this is happening. For Valbona and Ciara, it was protested in Gjakova, Pristina, in Ferizaj. Justice should be insisted every day. It is not a compromise for equality. Women's cause is of priority”, says VV.
