Thaci presents idea of redressing borders between Kosovo, Serbia in Austria

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci at the European Forum in Alpbach, Austria, has tonight presented his idea of correcting the borders between Kosovo and Serbia as a final peace solution between the two countries.

Speaking at this forum, he said he has officially launched the latest stage of Kosovo talks, Serbia, mediated by the European Union, while also speaking of the correction of borders between Kosovo and Serbia.

We've been discussing for almost five to six years with Alexander, and now we've decided to investigate every possibility and my perspective, including the correction of the border to reach agreement. Countries in the region, EU member states, or even other countries from the world, should not oppose or fear the potential peace agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, perhaps even if such an agreement could have been corrected of the”, Thaci said.

“Kosovo will remain multiethnic society and will continue to maintain higher standards in the sense of protecting community rights. The same principle will apply to Serbia, because peace and peaceful agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, and bilateral recognition will have a positive reflection for the entire wider region. Perhaps this potential agreement will be the biggest contribution from the Western Balkans to the EU enlargement agenda”, President Thaci has stressed.
