“Presevo's association mentioned by President Thaci “with a rhetorical tactic” actually means exchange of territories with unpredictable consequences for the entire region: for Macedonia, which has just received the invitation to NATO membership, for Bosnia and Herzegovina and for Serbs, living south of the Iber River in Kosovo”, she has said.
According to her, destabilisation cannot and should not be in the interest of the EU and its member states, nor in the region.
“Now when more than ten years have passed from Kosovo's independence returned to the idea of attaching Presevo and giving up northern Kosovo could cause a dangerous escalation of even provocative. If really behind closed doors in Washington there are serious talks on an exchange of territories, then Brussels would lose control. This would result in the failure of all efforts of initiatives in the European spirit for the establishment of balances and approach, including Brussels' own dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina”, she has said. /DW
