He warns that the eventual change of Kosovo's borders would open Pandora's box in the Western Balkans, as well as some other countries in the world.
Cerwer told Serbian Television N1 that if Serbia and Kosovo want to be democratic states and EU members, you see no reason why minority communities would not stay where they are at the existing borders.
“Change of borders would lead to destabilisation in Macedonia and BiH, but also in other parts of the world, for example, in Ukraine and Georgia. The US and EU have a good position on the issue of changing borders (...) for the integrity of states and not changing borders”, Cerwer said, sends out Telegrafi.
Commenting on statements by Serbia's Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic, that the new administration in Washington changed its attitude towards Serbia and Kosovo, Cerwer said he does not think there is any change and that Washington listens to both Belgrade and Pristina.
Cerwer, who is also a professor at John Hopkins University, also said Daciqi's efforts to attract some countries' recognition of Kosovo reflect badly on Serbian politics and good faith in dialogue.
If you speak to Pristina on an equal level, then you should be equal to”, he said.
