Fortunately, Taylor's daughter did some Internet research on the strange shape of nails and turned out to be a symptom of cancer.

Speaking of her ordeal, Taylor said: These fingernails have saved my life and I'm not going to cut it!. She distributed photos of her fingernails on social networks, in order to awareness all persons who may have been affected by this symptom.

Its photos have been distributed over 88,000 times and received more than 27,000 reactions. Many even send personal pictures of the same symptom, while some say that their relatives have or have had this symptom but did not know it was related to lung cancer.

Jean Taylor is expected to undergo two operations to remove lung cancer, but he expresses optimism about the future because he can rely on family and friends.
