The Obamas have signed a contract with the Netflix production company, where they will shoot various series (figurative and documentary) to address issues and problems that they have been preoccupied with during the eight-year term in the White House office, as well as their life after leaving power.
According to Forbes list of the richest and most influential people in the world, the balance of the Barack Obama account is about $40m. That is, according to Forbes, nearly 30 million more than when it entered politics in 2005.
Since his presidency, this 57-year-old man earned about $600,000 a year, and a large source of revenue was the book he published. Supposedly from 2005 to 2016, Obama earned over $15 million only by his works.
Yet, his writing career is not yet over. Last year, along with his wife, Michel signed contracts with publishers worth about $60 million, meaning that in the coming years their wealth will increase.
In addition, there are numerous public speeches from the former president. Each such speech captures the value of $400,000 and since Obama's departure from the presidential couch so far, there have been many.
The couple are aware that profits come not only from talks but also from continued investments. That's why the two decided to invest in real estate.
During their stay at the White House, they also had a villa in Washington, which they rented. It was, according to American media, the second most expensive property in the U.S. capital. After the second term ended, Barack Obama and his family moved to that house. In addition, they also have a family home in Chicago worth $2.5 million.
Since his release from the presidential couch in January 2017, Barack has lived a much more comfortable life than on duty. This is why more and more is seen on world trips, in luxury destinations with women and children.
