Today, in Italy, mortar ceremonies were held for those who lost their lives from the collapse of the Morandi Bridge in Genova, Italy, while the Italian government held an extraordinary meeting.

Italian media suggest that construction of the new steel bridge has been decided to take place within eight months of the Italian government's decision.

The Italian highway society has claimed responsibility and has said it will take a long time to find the truth of the bridge's collapse, while it has declared it will provide about half a billion euros in compensation for the families of victims who lost their lives in this tragic event, as well as for displaced residents, Tgcom reports.

Meanwhile, the number of victims has increased to 43, as a driver from Romania to hospital recently lost his life, as he could not survive the injuries.
