Researchers say that moderate running lowers blood - producing biomarketers showing inflammation, blood clotting, and cholesterol all raise the risk of cardiovascular disease.
This was found to be especially true of women, who cut their risk almost twice as many as men.
The team says their study, led by the University of Bristoli, shows that the key to reducing the risk of heart disease number one killer in any country, including the US, is improving the function of blood vessels.
