After holding primary elections in four countries, there are currently 11 women nominated for governors and at least 173 for congress.
These results have been praised as the success of policy activists.
The race will compete for 435 seats in the Congress House of Representatives, 35 out of 100 in the Senate and 36 out of 50 mayoral contests.
